I loved this- its wisdom, its dialogue with itself, its snatpshot-into-your-thinking-at-a-moment-in-time. While I wish I had a better set of words than revolutionaries and incrementalists, your essay inspired me to ask "in what ways has my understanding of how to build a better world been pushed forward by both of them?" I'm so grateful for revolutionary thinkers for looking at what we see on the surface and pushing our gaze a level deeper, a level deeper, a level deeper, towards not the outward manifestation but towards what's actually going on. So too I've been so grateful for more "incrementalist' folks who focus my mind back on what we see in front of us-- most notably, how people are experiencing and processing change, how they're trying to navigate their way through imperfect solutions (and the dignity and truth of that). I wouldn't have paused to ask myself that question without your lovely offering today. Thank you.

And no, I'm not just saying nice words to stay on your good side because you're now the owner of a hatchet.
